One chambers, many disciplines, a single standard of evidence

Our chambers brings together psychiatrists, psychologists, paediatric specialists and adult medical experts who share a common approach to independent, court-compliant opinion.

Solicitors and barristers acting in abuse and injury matters can appoint a member directly from the disciplines set out below. Each member works to CPR Part 35, FPR Part 25 and CrimPR 19 as the jurisdiction requires, and every report is prepared to withstand scrutiny in civil, family and criminal proceedings. Where a matter spans more than one discipline, our chambers can coordinate appointments so that the evidence remains consistent and proportionate.

From first contact to served report

Appointing a member of our chambers follows a clear, proportionate route. Each step is handled so that the eventual report meets the requirements of the court before which it will be relied upon.

Share the discipline you need, the jurisdiction and the issues in the case. Where the right discipline is not yet clear, our chambers will advise which member is best placed to assist.

Confirm scope and timescale

The member confirms availability, conflict position and the scope of assessment. Terms and an indicative timescale are set out before any appointment is finalised.

Assessment and reporting

The member carries out the assessment and prepares a report compliant with CPR Part 35, FPR Part 25 or CrimPR 19 as the jurisdiction requires, addressing the questions put by those acting.

Service and beyond

The report is delivered for service, with the member available for questions to experts, joint statements and attendance at hearing where required.

How do I choose the right discipline for my case?

Each discipline page sets out the assessments that member carries out, the reports they prepare and the cases they are typically appointed to. Where more than one discipline could apply, our chambers will advise on the most appropriate appointment, and where a matter spans several disciplines we can coordinate so the evidence remains consistent.

Do your members cover the whole of the United Kingdom?

Yes. Our members accept appointments in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and prepare reports to the procedural standard that applies in the relevant jurisdiction.

Are reports prepared to court-compliant standards?

Every report is prepared to meet the duty owed to the court under CPR Part 35 in civil matters, FPR Part 25 in family proceedings, or CrimPR 19 in criminal proceedings, with the appropriate declarations and statement of truth.

Can a single appointment cover more than one issue?

A member’s report addresses the questions put within their field of expertise. Where a case requires opinion across separate disciplines, our chambers can arrange parallel appointments so that the evidence is complete and proportionate.
