Abuse Injury Experts was founded and is led by Dr Nireeja Pradhan — a consultant psychiatrist with specialist expertise in the psychiatric consequences of abuse, and over 20 years’ experience preparing medico-legal reports for UK courts.

An NHS consultant psychiatrist since 2003, Dr Pradhan brings deep clinical experience of presentations arising from sustained abuse, coercive control and adverse childhood experiences — PTSD, complex PTSD, enduring personality change, dissociative disorders, and the depressive, anxiety and somatic conditions that accompany them.

Her reports cover the full range of abuse claims: non-recent child sexual abuse, institutional and care-home abuse, clergy matters, domestic abuse, trafficking and exploitation. She is regularly instructed in group litigation and as Single Joint Expert in high-value cases across civil, CICA, family, criminal and Court of Protection proceedings.

Why Choose Us

Leading Providers for Court-Ready Abuse
Expert Witness Reports

  • CPR Part 35 Compliance

Every report we prepare meets Part 35 standards in full — with the statement of truth, Part 35 declaration and duty to the court written in from the start.

  • Trauma-Informed Assessments

Assessments conducted with the care and pacing each claimant requires — in settings suitable for children, adults and those with complex vulnerabilities.

  • Predictable Turnaround

We agree clear timescales when you instruct us — usually four to six weeks for a full report, and faster where your deadline needs it.

  • Single Joint Expert Ready

We take Single Joint Expert instructions under CPR 35.7 — with the impartiality and balanced reasoning the role calls for.

  • Nationwide Coverage

We cover England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland — seeing claimants in clinic, at home, in secure settings, or remotely when that works best.

  • Different Payment Methods

We offer flexible payment structures including fixed-fee arrangements, Legal Aid rates, insurer-funded instructions, and deferred payment options where appropriate.
